Our training year is carefully planned to provide the skater with a schedule
that best meets the needs of their skating, their schooling, their family
time and their much needed rest periods.
Our training year begins with Spring School and commences as follows:
May 1st - approximate start of a 7 week Spring School
Mid June - one to two weeks break (exam time)
3rd week June - 8 week Summer School ending with Thornhill Competition and
including the Larry E. Peppler Memorial Element Competition
Mid August - 2 week break
- this break is very important, after the intensive summer program.
It also provides the skaters with a two week summer vacation to allow skaters
to spend time with their non-skating friends.
Tuesday after Labor Day - Start of 5 week Fall School
Mid October - commencement of Winter School
Christmas - approximately 10 days break for family time
March - ice show training which provides the skaters the opportunity to learn
a very important aspect of their sport: stage awareness and theatrical presentation
April - four weeks total vacation. No skating. |
